Description:
The Senior Power Systems Engineer has the following responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the design of high voltage (HV), ensuring that primary design solutions are compliant with industry standards, codes and regulations.
- Perform load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and fault level studies to ensure the robustness of primary designs.
- Lead the design, specification, and coordination of protection systems, including over-current, differential, distance, and earth fault protection schemes for substations and distribution networks.
- Develop and integrate control and protection schemes to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the power system.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and other team members, helping to develop their skills in power system design and analysis.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide expert advice on design considerations and solutions.
- Provide ongoing support for operational issues related to primary and secondary systems, assisting with fault diagnosis and corrective actions.
Requirements:
A successful Senior Power Systems Engineer is in possess of the following requirements:
- An engineering degree with a focus on power systems.
- Strong understanding of power system analysis and design.
- Proficiency in using power system modelling tools.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical skills.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in project management.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- Full Australian working rights
