About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our QLD Transport Technology team on a 12-month contract. You will oversee all phases of delivery of infrastructure and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and align with our strategic goals. This role offers the chance to work on large-scale projects and collaborate with diverse teams.

What is ITS?

Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) refer to advanced applications designed to provide innovative services related to different modes of transport and traffic management. These systems enable users to be better informed and make safer, more coordinated, and smarter use of transport networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Infrastructure/ITS Projects: Shape strategies and align them with business objectives.

• Manage Project Scope: Ensure clarity on deliverables and meet business expectations.

• Develop Project Schedules: Identify dependencies, milestones, and critical paths.

• Budget Management: Prepare budgets, manage forecasts, and keep projects within financial constraints.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and oversee technical activities.

• Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate expectations to stakeholders, vendors, and senior management.

This role is perfect for someone with a curious mind and transferable skills, including:

• Proven Experience: Managing infrastructure/ITS projects and multiple work streams.

• ITS Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with Electronic Toll Collection, Traffic Management Systems, electrical systems, and Operational Technology Networks.

• Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and support cross-functional teams and subcontractors (occasional night work ).

• Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and deliver project objectives.

• Risk Management: Effectively manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

• Certifications: PRINCE2, PMBOK, or AIPM certification (desirable).

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years managing infrastructure or technical projects focused on mission-critical systems, technology networks, and communications.

• Tools Expertise: Proficiency in project management tools like MS Project, MS Excel, risk management and financial tracking.
