Your responsibilities will be:
- Supervise staff and undertake build, install, commission and maintain AMS Group infrastructure and electronic systems in workshop and field environments.
- Supervise staff and undertake outage response throughout Australia and Asia-Pacific to AMS Group critical infrastructure and electronic system clients.
- Compile and review relevant reports/documentation on works undertaken.
- Actively review, update and create technical drawings, instructions and procedures to be part of a team that constantly drives continual improvement.
- Be an integral part of a team that actively participates in scoping potential opportunities through gathering site information and relaying back to our Professional Services / Client Engagement team.
- Supervise staff and undertake on-call work for AMS Group maintained mission critical infrastructure and electronic systems to meet contractual response times.
You will have:
- Strong experience with trade / defence knowledge and practical experience with complex electronic systems within a defence, maritime, utilities, or resources environment.
- Experience and / or proven ability to supervise / lead project and maintenance activities in the field and in the workshop.
- Highly developed communications skills, including the ability to effectively liaise with a range of employees and clients.
- Computer and data analysis skills, that extend to report collation and presentation.
- Proven ability to work with limited direction, with the capacity to organise work and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork – supporting, mentoring, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve overall objectives.
- Sound knowledge of WHS, Quality, & Environmental Management practices with the ability to evaluate and implement WHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Open Driver’s Licence (Class C).
- Restricted electrical or the willingness and ability to obtain it within 6 – 12 months.
- Professional and trade qualifications in previously mentioned fields are highly desirable.
- Confidence to work at heights up to 50m once completing work at heights and tower rescue training.
It would be great if you have (but not mandatory):
- Experience working with the following systems:
- Command and Control (C2) systems
- PC & Server infrastructure
- Computing virtualisation platforms such as VMWare
- RADAR
- Voice Communication Systems (VCS) inclusive of Very High Frequency (VHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF) and High Frequency (HF) radios
- Automatic Identification Systems (AIS)
- Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras
- Network monitoring platforms such as PRTG, Solarwinds, etc.
- Cisco certifications:
- Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – specialisations such as switching and routing, cloud and security.
- Operating system familiarisation such as Linux, Debian, Centos & Windows.
- Familiarisation with test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, cable testers, etc.
- Confidence to pass Basic Offshore Induction and Escape Training (BOSIET) and associated medicals.
- Met Ocean systems for example tide sensors, weather sensors, wave measuring sensors, etc.
Role information:
- Applicants must be Brisbane based and entitled to work in Australia.
- Must be able to undertake and pass medical assessments as required including drug testing.
- Frequent travel throughout Australia and the SE Pacific is required. Candidates must be available to travel.
- This role requires rostered on-call duties with possible ad-hoc travel.
