Wagga Wagga City Council’s Parks & Gardens Strategic Operations Team are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for the care and maintenance of gardens and landscapes, enjoys working outdoors and is looking for an active and hands on role.
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Remuneration of $2,116.86 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $2,540.23 gross per fortnight + superannuation (11.5%).

Your new role:
As the Gardener, you will be responsible for working collaboratively within the Parks & Strategic Operations Team to deliver high-level presentation for the City’s parks, gardens, reserves, streetscapes, and roadsides.
Duties of the position include but are not limited :
- Undertaking gardening duties such as establishment and maintenance of gardens and lawns, watering and maintenance of parks, planting and pruning of shrubs and trees, lawn mowing and renovations and disease and pest control.
- Operate and maintain items of plant, equipment, and tools; and
- Respond to customer service requests as required.
What you will need to succeed:
We are looking for someone with:
- Qualification relevant to the role e.g. Certificate II Horticulture (Desirable).
- Class C Driver’s Licence (MR desirable).
- General Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
- Current AQF II Chemical Safety Certificate (Desirable).
- Chainsaw Certificate Crosscut (Desirable)
A genuine interest in the presentation of park facilities and a focus on Work Health and Safety are essential to the role.
In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation applicants are required to be vaccinated and provide evidence for Hepatitis B.
