An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Mental Health - Lavender Mother and Baby Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Utilise clinical skills commensurate to individual level of experienceDemonstrate effective communication throughout the service to promote positive team functioningProvide direction, education and orientation to other staff which may include casual staff members and nursing studentsDevelop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team
About You
To be successful in this position you will require:
A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalentRegistration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of AustraliaCredentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)A graduate certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirableEvidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis BTuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be requiredDeclaration of serious discipline history must be disclosedCriminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
Permanent part time (45.60 hours per fortnight)Base salary ranging from $54.44 - $58.30 per hour
About Us
The Lavender Mother and Baby Unit is a specialised state-wide Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit and has four adult beds and four infant boarder beds. The latter may occasionally increase if a mother has twins/triplets. The aim of the service is to deliver safe and responsive specialist mental health care for a mother with severe mental illness without the need to separate women from their infant(s). This scope enables women to be admitted with their infant(s) (under 12 months old at time of admission).
