Description:

The Clinical Lead, Accreditation and Quality Care is an integral clinical position supporting the QAS in achieving and maintaining accreditation against safety and quality standards including the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.

The role is responsible for clinical oversight to accreditation planning, implementation and evaluation processes to ensure that expected standards of health care safety and quality are met.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:

  • Demonstrated strategic planning and leadership skills including proven success in achieving business objectives, contributing to improving organisational performance and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary work units in the achievement of organisational outcomes.
  • Highly developed knowledge and understanding of the NSQHS Standards and the application of these standards into a contemporary ambulance health service.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and coach employees through a change management process and provide advice on the development of relevant education programs to staff regarding accreditation processes.
  • Experience and high-level knowledge of project management methodologies in addition to demonstrated experience working within complex projects to achieve successful high-quality outcomes.
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical and reasoning skills including a demonstrated ability to interpret trend/output/outcome performance data and provide high level advice and recommendations to relevant stakeholders which contributes to quality decision making.
  • Demonstrated high level communication, consultation, negotiation and influencing skills with a proven ability to liaise effectively and maintain productive relationships with executive management, clients, health care providers, the community and other stakeholders.

The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:

  • Appointments to this position will require proof of qualification/s and current registration under the National Scheme, as determined by the Paramedicine Board of Australia.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Paramedicine or Health Science (Paramedic); or an Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Ambulance); or equivalent qualifications as determined by the Commissioner, QAS.
  • Applicants are required to hold an open Queensland “C” Class Driver's Licence (for a manual motor car).
  • It is an express condition of employment for all people who are to perform roles with direct patient contact to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following infectious diseases during their employment: Diphtheria; Tetanus; Pertussis (Whooping Cough); Hepatitis B; Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); Varicella (Chickenpox); Influenza. Please note, there may be additional vaccination requirements depending on individual circumstances as specified in the QAS Infection Control Framework.
  • Position may require participation in shift work (including weekends and public holidays), on-call duties and undertake overtime.
