About Us: Paramount Disability Support is a leading provider of compassionate care and community support services in Devonport, Tasmania. We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live independently and engage actively within the community. ​

Position Overview: We are seeking dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide personalized support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in daily activities, promoting independence, and facilitating their participation in social and community events., all in accordance with legislative, contractual and inspection framework guidelines.

Please Note: This role may include shift work over 24 hr period/s, inc. sleep overs and awake shifts. Support Workers may be required to work with children and participants with complex needs.
The position is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award [MA000100] and is a Level 2, pay point 1 classification.

The hourly rate is $41.76 for a casual employee and all relevant penalties and allowances apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication administration.​
  • Support clients in household duties such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry.​
  • Facilitate community engagement by accompanying clients to appointments, social outings, and recreational activities.
  • Implement individualized care plans and document client progress.​
  • Provide emotional support and encourage clients to achieve their personal goals.​

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification.​
  • Previous experience in disability support or a related field is advantageous.​
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.​
  • Empathetic, patient, and respectful approach to client care.​
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.​
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transport.​
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance.​
