About you and this position


As a Customer Service Officer, you will be the first point of contact for our customers and will:



  • have a sound knowledge of the principles underpinning quality customer service
  • have an understanding of Council and Community needs
  • be an active listener, who demonstrates empathy and has great communication skills
  • enjoy providing assistance and advice across a broad range of topics, functions or issues
  • have the ability to problem solve and the tenacity to follow things through
  • thrive in a team environment and have a positive can-do attitude.

The successful candidate will also have:



  • proven experience in a face-to-face customer service role
  • experience in cash handling and banking
  • have previous experience in Local Government or a sound understanding of the services Council provides.

This position is available on a fixed-term contract until 31 October 2025 on a part-time (18 hours per week) basis, and is classified as a Grade 3 under the Campbelltown Municipal Officers Staff Enterprise Agreement No. 11, 2024 and relevant Award. Hours of work will be Monday from 8:45am to 5:15pm, Tuesday 8:45am to 3:15pm, and Wednesday 10am to 2pm.


The preferred candidate will need to undertake a pre-employment medical and submit a police clearance (funded by Council).
