Description:

Location: Mitcham Clinic, Mitcham Square, SA
Employment Type: Part-Time (30 hours per week, including some evening work and reduced hours over school holidays)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About Us

Your Therapy SA is a dedicated allied health provider supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals. We offer physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and developmental education services to children and adults.

Our Mitcham-based clinic serves as a central hub , providing a supportive environment where our team collaborates and delivers therapy. However, our therapists primarily work mobile , managing their own caseloads and delivering services in clients' homes, schools, and the community . The clinic is used for therapy sessions, administration, and team support , but flexibility and independence are key aspects of the role.

About the Role

We seek a motivated and reliable Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join our team at Mitcham Square. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, or developmental educator to support therapy sessions, implement therapy programs, and assist with clinic administration.

This part-time role (30 hours per week) includes some evening work. Hours may be reduced over school holidays.

We are looking for someone who is seeking a long-term career in allied health rather than a temporary or student position. Current allied health students are not encouraged to apply, as we require someone committed to growing within this role. However, a background in allied health, disability support, or related fields is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work independently to implement therapy programs designed by therapists.
  • Support therapy sessions for children and adults, including hydrotherapy in the pool.
  • Assist clients in following prescribed therapy exercises.
  • Set up and pack down equipment for therapy sessions.
  • Maintain cleanliness of therapy spaces, including light clinic cleaning and equipment between sessions.
  • Provide administrative support, including appointment scheduling, client record updates, data entry, and document management.
  • Assist therapists by preparing therapy resources, laminating materials, organising session tools, and ensuring therapy kits are stocked and ready.
  • Use strong organisational skills to manage clinic resources, ensuring all materials and equipment are well-maintained and accessible.
  • Organise and maintain the clinic environment proactively, ensuring it remains clean, safe, and functional for therapy sessions.
  • Perform general clinic administration, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and coordinating resource distribution.
  • Manage own schedule and work efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Be available for some evening work as required.

About You

  • Trustworthy, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Confident and willing to assist with hydrotherapy sessions in the pool.
  • Seeking a stable career path in allied health (not a temporary student role).
  • Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or willing to obtain).
  • Experience working with children and adults with disabilities (desirable).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow structured therapy programs as directed by therapists.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage resources, maintain a structured clinic environment, and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications for document creation, scheduling, and record-keeping.

Minimum Requirements

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Clearance, and Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain).
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (or willing to obtain).
  • Ability to work some evenings as required.
  • Comfortable working in a pool for hydrotherapy sessions.

What We Offer

  • Flexible work arrangements with reduced hours during school holidays.
  • A supportive team environment with ongoing supervision and training.
  • Opportunity to gain experience in a multi-disciplinary clinic.
  • Convenient location at Mitcham Square, with free parking and public transport access.

How to Apply

If you are independent, motivated, and passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities and seeking a long-term career in allied health , we’d love to hear from you!
