About The Role
Join our Graduate Program within our Research & Development Tax team starting February 2026!
BDO is one of the world’s leading audit, accounting, advisory and consulting firms. We provide a range of services to clients of all sizes and industries across Australia.
The Research & Development (R&D) Tax Incentive is a significant driver of innovation in Australia, encouraging companies to undertake R&D activities they might not otherwise be able to fund. Our Research and Development team help clients access the R&D Tax Incentive by helping to identify eligible R&D activities and compute eligible R&D expenditure.
What You’ll Do
As a Research & Development Graduate at BDO, you can expect to:
Learn about the R&D Tax Incentive, case law and guidance in foundations courses and fortnightly trainingPerform basic research on client industries and technologies in preparation for project identification (PID) meetingsJoin PID meetings with client engineers, scientists and developers to discuss, identify and take detailed notes about R&D activitiesDraft R&D project descriptions based on information gathered during meetings and supporting documents provided by the clientReview client financial source documents and prepare R&D expenditure calculations for reviewPrepare the R&D Application, Tax Incentive Schedule and transmittal documents for review.

What You’ll Offer
You will be in your final year, or have recently completed an Accounting, Corporate Finance, Commerce, STEM or other relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degreeYou will be eligible for postgraduate study (CA/CPA, CFA)Your ability to commence full-time in February 2026.
