About the Role
The Principal Adviser Site Contamination (Audit) oversees activities related to the regulation of site contamination in South Australia, focusing on auditing and sustainable development. Responsibilities include developing and administering the Site Contamination Audit system and technical guidelines.
This role provides high-quality specialist advice on-site contamination to diverse stakeholders, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements under the Environment Protection Act 1993 and contributing to policy development. The incumbent also ensures compliance with safety and ethical standards as mandated by public sector regulations.
Essential skills include excellent communication, effective management of competing priorities, and extensive experience in the assessment, remediation, and auditing of site contamination.

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is South Australia’s independent environment protection regulator. The organisation works to protect, restore and improve the environment through the risk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. The EPA works closely with industry, the community and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for the administration of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (EP Act) and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021 (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.

Essential Qualification
Relevant degree in science, environmental science, hydrogeology or environmental engineering (or related discipline)
Remuneration
PO4 ($110,696- $120,470 per annum) + 11.5% super added to your choice of super fund.
