About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for people who have proven capabilities in field sampling techniques using analytical instrumentation. This role involves travelling to sampling locations throughout the Western regional areas in SA. You will work closely with the Senior Field Technician to ensure that services are performed with agreed turnaround times and testing criteria, meeting required standards. This role is based in our Port Lincoln depot.

The Science and Strategy group employs scientific approaches to address present and upcoming challenges. They execute a strategy driven by customer preferences to elevate the SA Water brand and position us for future success.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.
You will:
- A strong focus toward workplace health and safety
- Deliver sampling and field analyses and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and service delivery
- Perform accurate and timely sampling and field analysis to meet contractual obligations and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to reviewing sampling routes and sampling methods performed and make recommendations to the Senior Field Technician and make changes as directed
- Sound knowledge of WHS practices and requirements for field and laboratory work
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in a related discipline or relevant technical experience
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to transfer technical information effectively.
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and manage time to meet deadlines.
- Experience with laboratory information management systems and knowledge of NATA/ISO quality management (desirable)
- Understanding of WHS practices for field and laboratory environments (desirable)
- Knowledge of water sampling techniques, instrumentation, and scientific analytical instruments (desirable)
- Technical understanding of field-related services in the water industry (desirable)
