The Northern Territory Government has set a plan to reduce crime, rebuild the economy and restore our lifestyle. As part of this initiative, Infrastructure NT delivers strategic infrastructure planning and development to align infrastructure needs with industry and population growth. It manages the delivery of significant enabling infrastructure projects and incorporates project execution teams. The office represents and champions the Territory's interests at a national level to meet and deliver infrastructure requirements, forging strong relationships with Australian Government agencies, including Infrastructure Australia and other jurisdictions.
As an Environmental Manager, your primary objective is to provide expert environmental advice and technical support in addressing ecologically sustainable development and securing environmental approvals to support the development of the Northern Territory.
Working in conjunction with internal Government agencies, the Environmental Protection Agency and key stakeholders you will contribute to the development of strategies and solutions to address local and regional environmental issues associated with infrastructure development. You will also be required to prepare work scopes and briefs for environmental impact assessment studies and investigations to enable tendering of project packages to consultants.
To be successful you require a tertiary qualification in environmental science, environmental management or a similar field with demonstrated high-level experience in the field of environmental management, impact assessment and strategic planning.
High level written and oral communication skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise with a diverse group of stakeholders and provide concise and accurate reports, briefings and submissions is essential.
