We have opportunities for experienced Project Engineers to work with our client Rio Tinto. Project Engineer Potable Water Reporting to the Principal Mechanical Engineer this position is responsible for:
- Delivery on a Program of Works associated with the Potable Water network for Rio Tinto Pilbara operations
- Prepare Scope of works for all Engineering associated with the projects
Manage the Engineering Service Provider to achieve compliance to project schedule, cost and quality - Co-ordinate design reviews and critically review Engineering deliverables.
Coordinate Technical Queries with consultants (providing technical and site experience/input) - Supporting the Project Lead, review progress payment claims, review project schedule compliance, provide monthly progress reports to internal stakeholders, track project budget, prepare and review accommodation and monthly cashflow forecasts.
- Support onsite construction of projects.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years’ experience in Project Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in design or project engineering of Potable Water assets or Pumping, piping, and filtration projects or Water treatment and conveyancing projects.
- The ability to work collaboratively across a diverse range of stakeholders and operational teams
- Coordination of all engineering activities for the defined area of responsibility for the full project life cycle.
- Stakeholder Engagement: coordination of stakeholders to achieve engineering approvals.
- Provides engineering and technical support to project construction teams as required.
- Works closely with project planning and scheduling to develop and maintain project schedule.
- Supports coordination of project finances to meet project requirements, including assisting in the development of operating and capital budgets.
- An understanding of tailings management principles and experience in the design and/or management of tailings storage facilities.
- Capacity to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external contractors, aligning expectations and supporting in conflict resolution.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Experience: Previous experience in engineering support roles would be advantageous, including in tailings management.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
