Are you passionate about using your software engineering skills to make a positive impact? Join our Charitable Games team, where you'll build and maintain our two charity raffle products; Play for Purpose and 50:50.
What you’ll do
- Build, maintain and update the backend code for the Play for Purpose and 50:50 charity raffle products.
- Automated and manual testing, and maintenance of automated build/test/deployment processes for our software systems.
- Ensure security and maintenance of AWS infrastructure and applications.
- Build and support sales hardware kits as needed, and deploy/monitor iOS sales applications using Meraki.
- Participate in all usual SDLC phases, including documentation, estimation, and reporting.
- Support application release planning and coordinate with other developers as required.
- Partnership with the Charitable Games team to support product updates as needed.
- Provide mentoring to junior staff in the disciplines listed above.
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrated experience within a complex application development and support environment
- Strong knowledge of Java
- Experience with SQL databases.
- Proficiency in the following programming languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and source control management tools, including Git, GitHub, and GitLab.
- Experience with AWS, including services such as CloudFormation, S3, RDS, EC2/ECS, Elastic Beanstalk, and Lambda.
- Experience with Docker.
- Experience with site reliability, providing ongoing support, and resolving production issues.
- Awareness of and experience with test-driven development techniques and unit testing.
