About us:
Central Queensland Mental Heatlh Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Banana, Woorabinda and Central Highlands areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area.
Rockhampton as the principal service centre for this area provides the administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, and is the location of the acute adult inpatient facilities. In addition, there is a Adult Step Up Step Down facility located in Gladstone and a Community Care Unit located in Rockhampton.
The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Services works in collaboration with the local hospitals, other mental health and alcohol and other drugs teams, as well as primary health, community, and private sector providers to reduce the symptoms of mental illness and facilitate recovery.
About the role:
- A 24-month program for allied health new graduates in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, and Psychology with less than two years of post-qualifying experience.
- The program includes work-based experiential learning, formalized education and training, and ongoing supervision and profession-specific support.
- Participants will rotate through four different clinical settings over the course of the program to gain diverse experience.
- Active participation in supervision and educational training is essential for achieving clinical competency and capability.
- Graduates will work alongside fellow Allied Health professionals in multidisciplinary teams, providing mental health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Services in alignment with their training.
- Services will adhere to evidence-based practices and harm minimization frameworks, focused on collaborative goal-setting with consumers and their support networks to enhance psychosocial outcomes and recovery.
About you:
- The successful applicant must hold a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification from an accredited tertiary institution in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is mandatory.
- Commitment to completing the 24-month Allied Health Graduate Program while undertaking a variety of allocated mental health and/or Alcohol and Other Drugs AODS rotations.
- The successful completion of, or the ability to complete, the Queensland Health sponsored Occupational Violence Prevention Course on appointment is mandatory.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $136,713 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $39.86 - $ 60.43 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
