We are seeking a skilled and creative Video Production Officer to join our Video Production Team based within Marketing and Communication at UQ. In this role, you will be responsible for the functions relating to the collection, post-production, and editing of video assets to meet the video production requirements. The position requires a sound knowledge of design, post-production workflow and file management, editing, studio and field production, and equipment use and maintenance.
Depending on the project this role will require you to work as part of a large production team, but also as a single operator responsible for the capture, editing and delivery of video and audio projects.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Create video and animation resources.

Assists in the preparation of planning documents including scripts, précis, storyboards and pre-visualisations.

Prepare, shoot and edit video in a small studio setting, with a focus on talent coaching and development

Prepare, shoot and edit video in a field setting, with a focus on well-crafted interviews and short narrative pieces

Prepare, record and edit podcasts/audio stories/interviews with a focus on talent-coaching and development
-
Assists in the production of finished-work presentations, authored in commercial tools such as PowerPoint for inclusion in live video recording sessions

Undertakes digital content post-production with a focus on progress tracking, assembly editing, information gathering and fact checking, file wrangling and draft proofing

Completion of a degree; or completion of a diploma with significant relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

Highly proficient in the use of presentation software like PowerPoint.

A strong interest in production and production technology.

Highly proficient with using Adobe Creative Cloud, in particular Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-
Highly organised with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

Highly proficient in the use of production equipment (cameras, stabilisers, microphones, lights etc.) to capture high-quality video and audio for the use in video and audio products.
Desirable
-
Knowledge of broadcast devices including mixing desks, cameras, switchers, chroma keyers, PA’s, recorders and device controllers.

Knowledge of lighting equipment and theory.

Drone licence (RePL)
-
Sound knowledge of both Windows and Mac computer operating systems, with a focus on macOS.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia.
