Working within the Asset and Liability Management team, the role encompasses all aspects of liquidity and balance sheet management including measurement, analysis and robust governance and documentation of processes of liquidity and capital management.
The role supports Group Treasury’s Balance Sheet Management function which focuses on providing timely and quality analysis, documentation and development of significant assumptions and interpretations, financial modelling and supporting the business in making liquidity and capital related decisions.
How you will make an impact
- Prepare reporting of actual and forecast capital and liquidity profiles to support alignment of financial plans with risk appetite and support decision making
- Maintain and improve the suite of forecasting tools relating to balance sheet reporting and forecasting, regulatory capital forecasting, liquidity and funds transfer pricing
- Understand, interpret, and prepare recommendations to support the efficient design of AMP Bank products
- Apply regulatory policy and internal risk management frameworks to the development and review of funds transfer pricing
- Support the preparation of financial disclosure and external reporting for Treasury related items.
- Participate in and support projects and change management initiatives.
What you will bring to the role
- Postgraduate level degree (CA, CPA, CFA etc.) in a finance, economics or commerce discipline is preferred
- Ideally at least 3 years' experience within the financial services sector within a regulated institution or the finance function within other industries is highly preferred
- Well-developed financial and quantitative-related modelling skills and behaviours
- MS Excel skills and ability to interpret data effectively
- Knowledge of Data mining languages such as SQL/ Python will be highly regarded.
We are looking for a candidate with an intellectually curious mind who can understand and explain complex data. They should be skilled in financial modelling, interpreting financial data and understanding accounting, capital and liquidity impacts. Knowledge of Funds Transfer Pricing, including liquidity and interest rate risk, is essential.
The ideal candidate will work well in a team, communicate effectively with various stakeholders and possess excellent planning and organisational skills. A proactive approach to analysis and problem-solving, with a commercial and risk-based mindset is crucial.
