  • Full-time, 2 years Fixed Term position
  • Salary Level HEW 9 ($130,748 – 140,089) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working

About You:

We are seeking an exceptional Partnership Manager to develop and lead strategic partnerships that advance RMIT Activator's mission of entrepreneurial impact. This pivotal role will build an engaged ecosystem both within RMIT and externally, creating dynamic connections between industry, government, and academia in priority sectors including health-tech, sustainable buildings, circular economy, and clean tech.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and management of high-value strategic partnerships, focusing on meeting annual revenue targets of $300K+
  • Build robust external ecosystems while creating dynamic internal partnerships across RMIT
  • Provide comprehensive account management for key partners, ensuring delivery of contractual requirements
  • Collaborate with Policy, Strategy & Impact colleagues to co-create partnership opportunities aligned with RMIT's Knowledge with Action Strategy
  • Develop compelling marketing narratives that enhance Activator's brand reputation
  • Lead successful delivery of funded partner programs, working with the program design team

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Stakeholder Engagement, Partnerships or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-7 years' proven experience in strategic partnership development and management
  • Demonstrated track record in securing and managing partnerships valued at $300K+
  • Commercial partnership experience in innovation, education, or technology sectors is highly desirable
  • Partnership Brokers Association accreditation or equivalent partnership development certification is desirable

PSI works to advance the implementation of key activities, partnerships and investments through strategy development, Indigenous engagement, innovative partnerships, precincts and location strategies, public policy and capability development. PSI includes diverse teams such as the Innovation Catalyst, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, the Ngarara Willim Centre, the Australian APEC Study Centre, RMIT Activator, Strategy team and the Health Transformation Lab. The portfolio works as a network of collaborative and inclusive teams, working to develop and extend an 'impact ecosystem' to achieve outcomes across the whole of RMIT and beyond.
