About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality assessment and intervention in the Burns and Plastics stream at The Alfred. This role focuses primarily on burns caseloads but also offers exposure to hand therapy services for both inpatients and outpatients. You'll deliver person-centred interventions, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient care. The position requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to work autonomously under senior clinician guidance.
Grade 2 Occupational Therapists will demonstrate autonomy, patient-centred care, and evidence-based practice. You'll also contribute to teaching, quality improvement, and supervise junior staff, Allied Health Assistants, and students. Support will be provided through regular supervision and professional development opportunities with a senior Grade 3 therapist.
About you
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in occupational therapy
- Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, and eligibility for OTA membership
- Clinical experience and knowledge of client-centred, occupational service delivery in an acute setting including knowledge of upper limb therapy (clinical skills in burns management and therapy highly desirable)
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and modify service delivery in accordance with evidence-based practice
- Experience working within an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality rehabilitation
- Experience in supervision of junior staff and students is highly desirable.
