Our wide range of services includes assistance at home, transport assistance, nursing support and home modification that can be a great help in easy daily living.

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Provide in-home support to participants with health issues and daily living tasks such as washing, dressing, shower, grooming, meal preparation, transport arrangement, shopping assistance, cooking (or as per client request), community participation, social activities.

Assisting the client on One on One in-home.

Assisting client with domestic duties.

Assistance in building client self-image and self-confidence.

Assist in developing and implementing client-specific programs to help these individuals build strong social skills and encourage independence whenever possible.

About you:

We are looking for Support Workers to be reliable, committed, and empathetic individuals to provide quality care. Your knowledge of the disability sector is extensive. Genuine interest in helping others. Comprehends rapidly about the needs of participants, creative, enthusiastic, emotional stability, with the following responsibilities:

Understanding of confidentiality within the Disability Sector

Reporting and recording relevant documentation for NDIS standard.

Knowledge of and awareness of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Understanding of Client Incident Management.

Enjoys cooking

Experience in various outdoor pursuits and activities.

A practical understanding of hygiene assistance and commitment of care.

Enjoyment in social activities and one-on-one engagement.

Understanding of physical limitations and having a safe sensible approach

Possess a high level of trust, honesty, and integrity and am able to maintain a professional relationship with all participants.

Self-motivator and a team player.

A can-do attitude and genuine interest in helping others.

Strong communication and organizational skills - able to manage your time and support clients to do the same in an everyday capacity.

Those who have strong work ethics and enjoy being a team player.

Commitment to providing responsive and considerate care.

Effective communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.

Sound and effective time management skills.

Prioritizes punctuality and reliability.

We work with you to find how many hours you want and which clients/areas you prefer to work with. On average our staff work 6-25 hours per week in a stable roster, set days and times every week. As such, we are looking for workers who can build a relationship with others over time.

We understand the nature of casual work and try to offset its disadvantages by paying above the award rate, offering cancellation payment if a shift is cancelled within 48 hours beforehand, and finding participants that will suit your experience in the field.

- A current and valid Working with Children Clearance
- Minimum 3 months experience in the disability or similar field
- Studying towards or a degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, Cert IV in Mental Health, or related field, such as community services or disability is desirable
- Can provide emotional support and be considerate. Our participants need care delivered by professional and empathetic people.
- Are comfortable being with people who have challenging behaviours
- Access to a car and have current Drivers License, willingness to travel and access to a comprehensively insured motor vehicle

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $33.00 – $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
