About the roleWe are seeking Direct Care workers to provide a range of in-home based support services to our clients that require some extra assistance, assisting frail older adults, people with disabilities and their carers to maintain their independence, to ensure support of life in their own homes and the wider community.
Direct Care workers provide domestic assistance, respite and personal care in a respectful, flexible and client focused manner, working with clients and their carers to help them maintain independence and optimise quality of life.
This role is based in and around Rosebud and Mornington Peninsula.
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
- Current First Aid Level 2
- An understanding of the issues facing carers, people with disabilities and older people living independently in the community
- Awareness of specific client care needs
- Understanding of the Aged Care Act, Quality Standards of Care and Aged Care Code of Conduct and Charter
- Demonstrated capability of delivering Person Centre Care (PCC)
- Full drivers licence and reliable car
