The Role
Land Communications & Specialist Systems (LCSS) System Program Office (SPO) is seeking an experienced and driven individual to join the Battlespace Communications Systems team as an Assistant Fleet Manager. The Tactical Communications Network fleet comprises large quantities of equipment, supporting broad Australian Defence Force capabilities, in a high tempo, supply chain environment.
As an Assistant Fleet Manager, you will perform a broad range of inventory and asset management tasks, including the repair, maintenance and procurement support of the fleet. You will operate within a core sustainment team of fleet, contracting, procurement and technical staff, to support critical ADF equipment, ensuring that capability is in the right place, at the right time and in the right condition.
Our ideal candidate will have a depth of training and experience in asset management, logistics supply chain and budget management. The role will see you working in an integrated sustainment team, performing tasks to drive fleet asset requirements comprising fleet inventory management, repair and maintenance, procurement, and a range of Integrated Logistics Support functions, such as lifecycle management and disposals.
As our suitable applicant, you will be a positive team member, with well-developed stakeholder engagement, and communication skills, and will have a proven history of operating in a complex asset and supply chain environment, working effectively within teams, able to learn new systems and seek continuous improvement opportunities.

Our Ideal Candidate
The Joint Systems Division within CASG is a world-leading complex enterprise with a heavy dependence on information technology and its personnel. LCCS SPO is seeking applicants with a depth of experience in asset and fleet management and the ability to work within teams to deliver effective outcomes.
Key attributes and experience we are looking for:
  • A depth of experience in inventory, asset or fleet management in a more complex or high tempo supply chain environments.
  • Contribute to and complete tasks to meet capability requirements and the forecast of future inventory needs related to materiel logistics inventory and asset management.
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group task activities.
  • Analyse supply chain data and resolve problems using expertise and recommend alternative courses of actions.
  • The ability to understand current Defence materiel logistics policies as they apply to materiel logistics inventory and asset management activities.
  • The ability to learn new systems programs and processes whilst operating effectively in complex environments.
  • Draft responses to complex correspondence, briefs and reports for higher delegate consideration.
