About Us:
We’re a passionate and growing pet supplement company based in Newcastle, NSW, committed to creating high-quality products that help pets live healthier lives. As we expand, we're looking for two hard-working, reliable (and friendly!) Extrusion Operators to join our small company and work as a production team .
This part-time role is perfect for someone who’s semi-retired or has experience as a tradie or machine operator, and it offers the flexibility to grow as our business does!
Ideally, you will work on a 5 day on, 3 weeks off basis to start. (There is some flexibility but this is the best production pattern at present… 5 day blocks.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare raw materials in a ribbon blender and emulsion mixer ready for extrusion.
- Set up and operate a small extrusion machine, ensuring it runs smoothly and according to product specifications.
- Monitor machine settings to ensure top-quality and efficient production of our pet products.
- Perform regular quality checks on the extruded product and make adjustments when needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any machinery issues, carrying out basic maintenance when required.
- Pack extruded product into pouches.
- Keep the work area clean and organized while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Follow all safety procedures and standard operating protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
About You:
We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working hands-on and enjoys problem-solving. If you have experience with extrusion machinery, that’s fantastic, but we’re also open to someone with a mechanical background or a willingness to learn. Ideally, You Will Have:
- Previous experience as an Extrusion Operator (or in a similar machine operator role).
- A basic understanding of extrusion processes, materials, and machinery, or a mechanical leaning (we’re happy to train the right person!).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot and solve problems quickly.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work additional shifts when needed as we continue to grow.
