Abundant Life Disability Support is devoted to delivering outstanding care and support to individuals with disabilities. We strive to create an inclusive environment that empowers both our participants and staff to live fulfilling and abundant lives.
Due to growth, we are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their personal and NDIS goals.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Provide personal care and support to participants as needed.
- Assist with daily activities, such as meal preparation, medication management, and social engagement.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants and their families.
- Document clients' progress through case notes and report any concerns to the management team.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
Qualifications required for this role:
- Minimum of Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or Aged Care, Nursing, or currently studying one of the above courses.
- NDIS Screening Check or National Police Check and Working with Children Check (VIC or NSW accepted).
- NDIS Orientation Module.
Other documentation required for this role:
- Comprehensive car insurance.
- 100 points of ID (copies of these will be required to begin employment).
- Valid driver’s license.
Skills and attributes required for this role:
- Empathy and understanding towards individuals with disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and nights.
