The Scrum Master facilitates agile processes, removes obstacles, and ensures the team adheres to agile principles to achieve project goals efficiently. This role will oversee multiple scrum teams across various business and technology deliverables.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Key accountabilities and outcomes
- Build and develop an Agile framework suited to the specific needs of the program.
- Champion Agile capabilities across the program teams and ensure apapprarie levels of reporting to suit senior stakeholder desire to understand key milesones and progress.
- Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning/grooming, stand ups, retrospectives, showcases etc.
- Support teams using the Scrum framework to deliver high quality business outcomes
- Assist the Product Owner in managing the backlog and ensuring that the team is working on the highest-priority items.
- Identify, track and work to resolve impediments, risks and issues that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver sprint deliverables.
- Contribute to high level and detailed planning of project milestones, outputs and tasks.
- Work in close partnership with Project Manager and other Business and IT stakeholders.
- Coach teams, champion the scrum process and promote self-organisation.
- Drive continuous improvement to improve productivity and quality of delivery.
- Establish tooling, methods and reporting including burndowns.
Desired experience and capabilities:
- 7+ years experience as Scrum Master.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
- Experience in IT projects and sound understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills and a highly professional approach.
- Experience in Data and Analytics projects a must.
- Experience in cloud data lakehouse technologies and setting up uplifing data capabilities across an organisation is a bonus.
- Pro-active. Can do mind-set and attitude.
- Must be able to work in a team environment in order to share information and collaborate on solutions
- Strong leadership and motivation to drive the delivery of high quality work
- Is user-focused, analytical, and has strong verbal and written communication skills
- Identifies key issues/opportunities relating to business issues
- Is proactive in identifying current and potential problems and provides timely factual and logical solutions
- Applies innovative approaches to problem solving.
