The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Aircrew Officer to join our dynamic rotary wing team based in Townsville & make a real difference to the lives of those in need. You will assist the pilot to carry out all aeromedical, search & rescue, emergency & counter disaster operations & other government support duties. Your flight experience will ensure you can work as an effective team member within the aircraft whilst conducting primary rescues, secondary interhospital transfers & counter disaster work alongside frontline Queensland Government services.

What We're Looking for:
Mandatory requirements
- Qualified Helicopter Aircrew Officer with at least 500 hours logged Aircrew Officer rotary wing hours & operational winching experience including night winching or 1000 hours EMS experience.
- CASA Aviation Class 2 Medical Certificate.
- Previously held a Bronze Medallion Surf Life Saving qualification or Certificate II in Public Safety/Aquatic Rescue.
- Current Senior First Aid.
- Advanced Resuscitation/CPR Certificate.
- Winch and Rappel Competency Certificate.
- Certificate IV Aviation - Aircrew Officer.
Highly Desirable Requirements
- AW 139 Aircrew Officer Endorsement/Qualification.
- Front Left Hand Seat Cockpit Qualified.
- Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET).
- Helicopter Aircrew Breathing Device (HABD) Training.
- Emergency Breathing Systems (EBS) Training.
- Dangerous Goods Awareness Training.
- Previous SAR/EMS experience.
- 100 hours NVIS experience.
A permanent vacancy currently exists at our Townsville base. Applications will remain current for 12 months and may be used for future Aircrew Officer vacancies in Brisbane and Cairns.
