Description:
Wood is currently sourcing for a Field Mechanical Assurance Engineer based in Chinchilla, this is a FIFO opportunity for the next 18 months on a 15 / 13 roster; the successful applicant will be responsible to provide assurance that site construction is completed as per IFC documents and our client’s construction standards.

Responsibilities
- Review of IFR project construction & commissioning documentation on including SOW, PEP, Design Drawings, commissioning strategy etc. Field Engineer will coordinate and lead the reviews and compile comments and provide feedback
- Oversight of key construction deliverables to ensure projects are delivered safely on-time and to specification
- Liaise with Construction Management and Contractors clarifying all design aspects to ensure that they are safely and efficiently constructed
- Participation in design development workshops with Engineering Contractor (Scope of work review, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Design reviews, Risk Reviews, Constructability, method statements etc.)
- Undertake or assist with site survey works to support engineering design as required / requested by Engineering Contractor/Project Engineer and produce prepare detailed field sketches / reports / calculations
- Assist with Field engineering issue resolution & completions with maintenance of accurate records (as-built mark-ups, punch lists, etc.)
- Provide Technical support to Construction Contractor during project execution. The Field Engineer role is first point of contact for Technical Queries, RFIs and general technical concerns after contract award
- Liaise with Engineering Contractor and/or Brisbane based Project Engineering Manager for required technical support to close-out TQs, RFIs, etc. Prepare site instructions in consultation with Project Manager
Qualifications

Expected:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent Tertiary Diploma
- Demonstrated experience (minimum 10+yrs) in a Projects, Construction and/or Engineering team environment
- Familiar with various ASME, API, ISO, IOGP-JIP33 and other international codes and standards
- Understanding of Operational challenges and issue resolution in engineering and construction
- Experience collaborating and engaging with internal and external stakeholders, not only with the client but particularly our Engineering Contractors, Equipment Vendors, and Construction Contractors
- The ability to set the HSSE standards required and to lead by example to ensure that all aspects of the work are completed safely and in line with the client’s HSSE expectations
- Brownfield project experiences in the region is preferred
- RPEQ, Ability to obtain RPEQ or working towards it would be favourable
