Description:
Prof David Clark is a colorectal surgeon located at St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside, Chermside. We are seeking a registered nurse (current or lapsed) or an enrolled nurse to job share 1 day a week.
Surgical / colonoscopy experience preferable but not essential.
The successful applicant:
- Must be available to cover holiday relief (9 days a fortnight) for at least 2 months each year, and sick leave at short notice.
- Will have an excellent phone manner
- Will be friendly, confident, self-motivated and easy to get on with
- Will have excellent verbal and written skills
- Must be able to type
Knowledge of Shexie is preferred but not essential. Basic computer skills essential.
The position is a mix of nursing and clerical. Duties include:
- Chaperoning all examinations
- Assisting with minor procedures i.e. rigid sigmoidoscopies, banding of haemorrhoids, removal of sutures/staples
- Sterilizing of instruments
- Phoning patients post-operatively to check on them and make follow up arrangements
- Booking patients for colonoscopies
- Assisting secretary with theatre bookings, typing of letters, and payments.
