The Role
We are looking for a talented Interior or Industrial Designer who has both an excellent eye for design and the technical skills to document and develop furniture and joinery concepts. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about interior design, materials, colours, and hotel aesthetics, while also being skilled in technical documentation, space planning, and furniture manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop interior design concepts and create compelling presentations for hotels and apartment projects.
- Assist with design selections for furniture, fabrics, art, décor, and materials.
- Liaise with clients, architects, and developers to ensure cohesive and functional designs.
- Create professional design presentations and finishes boards
- Develop furniture and joinery shop drawings for production; assist in the analysis of spatial requirements, and create furniture placement plans using a variety of CAD packages
- Oversee custom furniture and lighting design, ensuring a balance between aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Work with offshore factories (China/Vietnam/Indonesia) to ensure production quality and design integrity.
- Attend industry trade shows and supplier meetings to stay ahead of design trends and source new materials.
- Provide design input for sales proposals and support our Project teams with accurate documentation.
- Provide precise information to the Project Management team to ensure accurate project costings are completed
- Work with local suppliers to place orders and stay on top of latest products and trends
- Adhere to project timelines, budgets and client specifications
What We’re Looking For
- A creative and technically skilled designer with impeccable style and a strong understanding of design trends.
- A keen interest in hotel design, materials, colours, and furniture manufacturing.
- Experience in designing and documenting modular joinery and furniture for offshore manufacturing.
- A problem solver who can balance cost, aesthetics, and manufacturing constraints.
- Proficiency in SketchUp, Layout, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office. Willingness to learn Fusion.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with offshore factories, clients, and internal teams.
- A team player who enjoys collaborative design processes and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to factories in South-East Asia when required to oversee Prototype Production and Quality Control.
