Animal Production Advisor

We are currently offering a great opportunity for a driven Animal Production Advisor to join our Animal Production team supporting our Central and Northern Queensland region.

This role involves providing tailored expert advice on ruminant nutrition, animal health, and livestock management, to the region's branches and customers. It requires collaboration with regional branches, livestock agents, and industry to expand the animal health and nutrition portfolio. Focusing on developing and maintaining a client base and providing best practice advice and tailored nutritional plans, to enhance customer profitability.

About the role:

Reporting to the Regional Category Manager (Animal Health & Merchandise) you will be responsible for providing technical advice, support and solutions on property and in store throughout the Central & Northern region. In addition, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining a client base, where tailored livestock advice is provided.
• Proactively maintaining and developing effective relationships with key livestock customers for the focus branches.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of livestock production plans for customers to increase productivity and profitability.
• Providing technical support and training to focus branch staff on animal health, management, and nutritional products.
• Maintaining effective relationships with various internal stakeholders to pre-empt demand for products.
• Increasing Animal Health sales and enhancing customer profitability through tailored strategies and the use of the Salesforce animal health planner
• Promoting and representing Nutrien at relevant industry meetings and events
• Providing appropriate animal health, management and nutritional assistance and support to QLD branches and networks.
• Assisting in the planning and budgeting process of key animal health and nutritional products.

A little about you:

To be successful you must have previous experience in providing technical advice in ruminant nutrition, in Northern Australia and possess strong experience in developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships. In addition, you will:

• Have a tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Animal Science / Ag Science or relevant field, or Diploma of Agriculture.
• Product knowledge within Animal Health, Nutrition and Production.
• A strong understanding of immunology principles and practices in Northern QLD.
• Experience in analysing faeces, pasture, feed tests and ration formulation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of sales process and retail best practice methodologies.
• Ability to travel to regional and rural locations.

*There will be a large element of travel, therefore the role requires you to have a valid and current drivers’ licence and be willing to travel*
