YARD HAND/LABOURER
FULL TIME TEMPORARY ROLE (Mon-Fri)
The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron’s Service Boatyard located in Manly Harbour, has a busy period over next few months and we are looking for someone to fill the role of helping wash down boats, assist with boat lifts (subject to experience) and general maintenance duties in the yard.
Hours of work are from 7am, Mon-Friday – this role will be temporary for up to 6 months, and may be subject to extension of employment.
Essential criteria to be suitable for this role is someone with a helpful and co-operative attitude, willing to work hard and be part of the boatyard team. This is an outdoor role, so someone willing and used to working outside in all weather conditions is also important.
Forklift licence and experience driving tractor or towing trailers would be considered an advantage as would an understanding of boats, but not essential. We will teach the right person.
A uniform including PPE, will be provided.
This role is currently only required up until the Xmas holiday break, but may be extended for a longer period subject to the skills of the successful applicant, along with further training and development.
This role would be ideal for someone currently working in labouring jobs or a FIFO mine worker, who is keen to learn new skills in a different environment.
