We have a very unique opportunity for a qualified Wood Machinist to join our team located in Dardanup West, 15 minutes’ drive from Bunbury in the beautiful Southwest of Western Australia. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to relocate their family to a known holiday destination while working locally with the ability to be home every night.
About you
Reporting to the Head Wood Machinist, this position ensures our machines are running to their optimum capabilities through the effective setting up and calibration of equipment.
We are looking for someone who has the following:
- Trade Qualification in Wood Technology
- Demonstrated experience with knife sharpening, splitter saws, and efficient machine set up, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to fault find, as well as good problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.
- Quality control of own work.
- Experience in high-speed planer’s would be advantageous
- Ability to interpret cutting lists.
- Have experience in working with timber machines - panel saw, planer, moulders and hand tools.
- Sizing of timber.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Great attention to detail and accuracy.
- A strong work ethic.
