About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Allergy and Immunology team as an Administrative Assistant , where you will be responsible for:

  • The Administrative Assistant is accountable to the Medical/Nursing Directors, Division of Paediatric Medicine, via the Nurse Practitioner, Allergy and Immunology Department for the provision of a confidential secretarial, reception and administrative service to the Allergy and Clinical Immunology Department.
  • The incumbent will perform duties autonomously and undertake responsibilities for more complex duties and decision making as directed by the Nurse Practitioner.
  • The incumbent works as part of a multi-disciplinary team which contributes to the service excellence provided by WCHN facility users including staff, patients and students.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in providing a confidential reception and administrative support service, including the drafting and editing of general correspondence and records management.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of team and to function in and promote a multi-disciplinary team approach.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision, accepting full responsibility for the accurate and efficient completion of each task.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with consumers, staff, external agencies and members of the public, both face to face and over the telephone demonstrating a high level of interpersonal skills.
