An opportunity now exists for a dynamic and strategic leader to join TAFE SA as Director, Strategic Planning and Policy.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Students and Strategic Planning, this pivotal leadership role is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of TAFE SA’s strategic and business planning, policy formation, and government relations functions. You will lead a team that supports the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team by providing high-level policy advice and ensuring that key strategic initiatives align with the organisation’s mission and South Australia’s workforce needs. Acting as the primary liaison with the Minister for Education, Training and Skills, government agencies, and the TAFE SA Board, you will manage complex relationships and help shape TAFE SA’s vision for the future, ensuring its goals are met with precision and foresight.
You will have extensive experience in strategic planning, policy development, and government relations, with a strong background in leading complex projects within a large organisation. Exceptional communication and leadership skills are essential, as you will be responsible for preparing high-level reports, ministerial briefings, and strategic documents. Your ability to navigate politically sensitive issues, provide sound policy advice, and drive organisational change will be key to your success in this role.
