About the Role
We are currently seeking a friendly and professional Bus Driver to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing transport services to elderly residents from aged care facilities, including those requiring wheelchair access. You will be driving one of our wheelchair-accessible buses and delivering a safe, supportive, and enjoyable experience for all passengers.
This is a casual position , with up to of 20 hours per week , offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a wheelchair-accessible bus for scheduled resident outings and appointments.
- Assist passengers in and out of the vehicle, including the safe securing of wheelchairs.
- Provide a caring and respectful service, maintaining the comfort and safety of elderly passengers at all times.
- Conduct pre-departure vehicle checks and ensure the bus is clean, safe, and ready for service.
- Adhere to all traffic and safety regulations, and company policies and procedures.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is not only a skilled driver but also has a genuine passion for working with the elderly and making a positive impact in their day.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A current LP Licence (Large Passenger). An LP Licence is a driver accreditation required to drive vehicles with 13 or more seats in South Australia.
A clean and safe driving record.
- Experience assisting passengers with mobility needs, including wheelchair users (preferred).
- Previous experience as an Access Taxi Driver is highly regarded.
- An empathetic, patient, and professional manner.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a caring, supportive team.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to safety.
