About the Role
Due to organic growth, we are seeking a proactive Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to champion safety across our operations. As the WHS Advisor, you will manage the implementation and ongoing management of our Work Health & Safety System, collaborating closely with management teams to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. This role serves as the primary advisor for WHS legislation, compliance, and best practices, fostering a culture of safety throughout Endfire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain company Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards.
- Manage WHS reporting, including incident reports, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Facilitate WHS training programs and safety inductions, promoting awareness and compliance.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and stay updated on WHS legislation and best practices.
- Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and WHS committee discussions.
- Manage injury and incident investigations and drive corrective actions.
- Coordinate return-to-work programs and support injury management efforts.
- Maintain accurate WHS records and documentation in our Safety Management System.
- Assist management in ensuring BPIQ compliance through thorough reporting and submissions.
- Travel to various sites may be required depending on location and project needs.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification (minimum).
- Work Health and Safety Officer Certificate of Authorisation (desirable).
- Experience with Hammertech software (desirable).
- Experience in Construction Industry (desirable).
- 5+ years of experience in a similar WHS role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of WHS legislation and Australian Standards.
- Strong skills in hazard management, incident investigation, and corrective action planning.
- Proven experience in delivering WHS training and fostering a safety-first culture.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage all levels of staff.
- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Capability to work independently and proactively address safety concerns.
- Ability to motivate the team and drive an outstanding safety culture.
