About the role
- Design, conduct, and publish high-quality, original research in alignment with institutional processes.
- Publish research findings in high-impact academic journals, books and other scholarly outlets
- Present research at conferences, symposia and workshops to enhance the visibility and reputation of Majarlin and the University
- Support Majarlin staff in designing, conducting, and publishing research.
- Seek individual and collaborative grant opportunities to support research initiatives
- Recruit and supervise Honours and Higher Degree Research (HDR) students.
- Provide consultation, guidance and support to students as needed.
- Develop and deliver research-led lectures, tutorials, and workshops aligned with departmental needs.
- Engage in the development of new teaching materials and resources to support the learning outcomes of students
- Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of students’ research-related projects and academic progress
- Manage administrative functions associated with programs and projects.
- Current, unrestricted national registration with the relevant Allied Health governing body (e.g., AHPRA).
- Proven significant experience as a health researcher, with a strong record of research outputs.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including Indigenous communities, research partners, and professional networks.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, conducting, and reporting high-quality research projects employing diverse methodologies.
- Proven ability to secure research funding through competitive grant applications.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous peoples.
- Strong understanding of the cultural, social, and historical contexts of Indigenous communities and the ability to adapt communication styles to ensure meaningful and respectful engagement.
- Highly developed administrative skills within a higher education context.
- Proven ability to deliver lectures, tutorials, and workshops aligned with professional and departmental needs.
- A commitment to advancing rural health workforce development through education, innovation, and research.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities effectively.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, including a willingness to undertake after-hours responsibilities and travel as required.
