About the role:
The EHS & Compliance Advisor - serves Progress Rail, a Caterpillar Company throughout Western Australia. The Compliance Advisor provides environmental, Health and Safety Strategies, policies and processes in support of the Company’s operations. Responsible for evaluating, developing, planning, directing, training, and implementing environmental, safety, and health initiatives that will ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free working environment.
This includes:
- Support the national EHS strategy through delivery of programs, coaching and support (where able) to other facilities within the national footprint
- Provide oversight and leadership for assigned regulatory programs
- Serve as primary point of contact for environmental and safety compliance issues
- Provide oversight and management of the integrated safety and environment management system
- Work with operations to meet environmental and safety expectations and improve operating metrics
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and directives for relevant facilities
- Provide professional guidance, assistance and training to facility personnel
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements for assigned operations and programs
- Assist with development of Corporate EHS directives and review implementation at assigned facilities
- Conduct investigations, direct remediation activities, and make presentations to appropriate personnel
About you:
- Ability to multi-task, follow-through, work independently, and meet critical regulatory deadlines
- Strong analytical and technical skill
- High level problem solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability and willingness to further your knowledge and skills with additional training.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel locally on demand - 20% travel expected.
Skills and experience:
- Must hold a Certificate IV in Work Health Safety
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in EHS or rail related environment required
- Solid understanding of environmental, health, and safety practices and regulatory requirements
- Experience conducting EHS compliance and implementing processes and procedures
