About the role
The Oyster Bar is seeking an experienced Chef to join our team!
We are a multilevel venue with two bars and dining areas and successfully host lots of regular functions in our beautiful waterfront location.
We are seeking someone wishing to work with a simple concept and vision of the Oyster Bar Brand.
Someone able to produce consistently great tapas and seafood menu items for our customer base.
Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role, ability to coordinate large functions, train and develop a great team of staff, stock control, wastage, menu costings, work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen and do it all with a positive and enthusiastic approach alongside our team.
Our concept very much focuses on training and development, so whether you are an experienced Chef of many years or someone looking to step up into a more senior management position our team can offer on the job training and allow you to develop, we have the flexibility and opportunities amongst our team to take on applicants of varied ability and experience.

Here's what you would be doing:
The main things that you would be doing include:
- Food preparation, cooking, plating, presentation
- Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies
- Menu planning, development and costing
- Waste reduction and monitoring
- Staff training and development - working along side the team- this is a hands on role.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for candidates with the following attributes:
- Able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Experience in a similar role
- Creative, and passionate about food and providing high standards of food service
- A team player, we work collectively FOH and BOH as professional unit
- Positive attitude and ability to thrive under pressure.
- Full Time hours, over a 7 day roster, including nights and weekends, full time or casual position available depending on applicant
- Diploma in Hospitality or 3 years of Full time work experience will substitute for the formal qualification.
- 2 to 3 years of work experience as a qualified Chef
