Description:

Are you a technically sharp marine or mechanical engineer with a diesel and auxiliary systems background? Kinexus is seeking an experienced Engineering Officer to support a high-impact Defence maritime program at Garden Island. You'll play a critical role in driving engineering change, improving maintenance systems, and delivering reliable outcomes for a variety of naval platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, develop, integrate, manage, and evaluate engineering and maintenance processes across a diverse fleet of vessels.
  • Create, review, and improve maintenance instructions, parts lists, and engineering documentation for vessels and other marine assets.
  • Support the execution of engineering change initiatives, ensuring tasks are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments and analysis to identify engineering issues and implement improvement strategies.
  • Draw upon your knowledge of engineering principles, regulations, and cross-functional systems to address technical challenges with confidence.
  • Track, document, and report on engineering tasks, ensuring compliance with Defence and contractual requirements.
  • Liaise with Port Team staff, SPO, Navy users, and internal engineering teams to ensure delivery alignment.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in a maritime or engineering discipline (e.g., Marine or Mechanical Engineering etc.).
  • Technical Experience:
  • Hands-on knowledge of diesel engines, generators, auxiliary systems, and maintenance regimes.
  • Familiarity with docking scopes and vessel upkeep programs.
Engineering Expertise: Strong background in engineering project delivery, maintenance planning, and technical system development. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across engineering and stakeholder groups.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Australian Citizenship: Required due to Defence security protocols.
  • Security Clearance: Must hold a Defence BASELINE Security Clearance .
