About The Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Stays abreast of industry trends and takes an active interest in the client’s business to pre-empt issues and provide strategic counsel to clients
- Manages client meetings and account reviews to foster a strong and supportive relationship with clients
- Acts as a client leader and maintains a clear and consistent communication channel between the client and the account team
- Oversees quality implementation for a group of accounts, keeping programs on time and within budget
- Maintains a strong rapport with journalists/bloggers and identifies news angles and opportunities to meet their needs
- Develops, pitches and places positive stories by and about the client in appropriate business, trade and consumer media
- Handles complex media inquiries
- Oversees press events and take part in media trainings, including drafting scenarios and Q&A
- Acts as a coach and mentor to junior team members to deliver quality execution of client programs
- Takes an active interest in staff development and provides on the job training to team members on day- to-day account management
- Keeps immediate supervisors briefed on team member performance, ensuring recognition of good performance and that any concerns are addressed in a timely fashion
- Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts. Presents recommendations internally and follows through in presentation of new recommendations to client
Here’s the relevant experience you’ll have, that we’ll build on:
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in the Public Relations industry or in the Communications Department working with a strong corporate focus
- Experience working on a portfolio of clients and playing the role of team representative to both clients and senior management
- Plays an active role in new business development with a key focus on growing existing accounts
- Ability to lead multiple teams and work streams simultaneously
- Impeccable communication and presentation skills
- Experience and understanding of working with large multi-national consumer and corporate companies
