Processing Operators and Forklift Operators – casual positions
Hop Products Australia (HPA) are looking for casual employees to work in our hop processing facility in Myrtleford commencing 31st March 2025.
Our brand-new hop processing facility (we’ve called it Hop Central) is about to commence pelleting and packaging our freshly harvested hops for the first time. This is a great opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art food processing facility.
We are hiring casual Processing Operators and Forklift Operators.
These roles involve:
- Operate packaging and production machinery.
- Manually open bales for processing using the equipment provided.
- Assist with cleaning machinery and equipment.
- Complete traceability, quality and safety paperwork and checklists.
- Identify and escalate food safety and quality issues, hazards and risks.
- Forklift operators will use handheld tablets with a scanner to identify and scan picklists for trucks and processing, and unload trucks and scan pallets into the warehouse management system.
Hours:
We will be operating 3 shifts across each 24-hours (day, afternoon and night), 6 days per week (Monday to Saturday) for approximately 9 weeks.
Each shift will be approximately 8 hours in duration (on some occasions up to 12 hours so your flexibility will be required).
- Day: 6:00 am to 2:15 pm
- Afternoon: 2:00 pm to 10:15 pm
- Night: 10:00 pm to 6:15 am
You will be allocated either a day, afternoon or night shift. At times, you may be asked to work additional hours, sometimes at short notice so some flexibility is desired.
About you:
- Experience operating machinery and equipment in a food manufacturing or production environment is preferred but not essential.
- Proven ability to follow instructions, adhere to WHS, food safety and quality procedures and maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be physically capable of safely performing manual handling tasks and spending long periods working on your feet.
- Comfortable to be able to work in a cold room environment. We provide the appropriate warm PPE for these conditions.
- Comply with our standards of hygiene (jewellery and facial piercings will need to be removed before the start of each shift, hair nets worn and facial hair covered)
- Forklift operators – we require 4 workers on each shift with a forklift licence. You must have a current Australian forklift high-risk work licence.
Pay:
Horticulture Award 2020 casual level 3 $30.95.
Afternoon and night shifts will attract an additional 15% loading for hours worked between 8:31 pm and 4:59 am.
You will receive on-the-job role specific training and supervision to ensure you are fully supported in your role.
About us:
Our processing facility, Hop Central, is located 5 mins drive from the Myrtleford town centre. We own and operate two hop farms in Northeast Victoria; Rostrevor Hop Gardens and Buffalo River Valley: both located within a 10-minute drive from Myrtleford.
