Description:

Take Two provides a range of therapeutic services for infants, children and young people who have suffered trauma, neglect and disrupted attachment, and contributes to the service system that provides care, support and protection for these children. This role will require travel to other regions as needed.

  • Preston Office, Wurundjeri Country, however flexibility in location can be offered
  • Part time, 0.6FTE Permanent position
  • $121K pa pro rata + 11.5% superannuation + salary packaging up to $15,900 pa pro rata

This role is part of our Developmental Specialist Team (Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Neuropsychologist) who provide specialist consultation and assessment of our infants, children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

The primary objectives of the role are to:

  • Have a leadership role within Take Two and support the clinical team leader, including building and maintaining important partnerships and supporting the team to meet key performance indicators.
  • Complete secondary consultations with Take Two staff specifically about the occupational needs of infants, children, and young people (strong focus on sensory processing), as well as providing consultation as part of the wider Developmental Specialist Team.
  • Complete Occupational Therapy assessments through the Intensive Therapeutic Services and Fee for Service programs.
  • Provide clinical supervision to clinicians and students as required.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of training requests for Take Two staff and external agencies.
  • Work in a systemic and collaborative manner with the client, their family and the care team to achieve the goals within the specified time frame.

Your skills and experience

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist, who enjoys working within a team and are passionate about seeing young people reach their goals. You have a Bachelor Level or Higher qualification in Occupational Therapy and current APHRA, Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, registration

We are also looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in working with children, young people, families and carers with a sophisticated understanding and knowledge of the complexities of the service system as well as child development, trauma theory, attachment theory and systemic work.
  • Has experience working with young people who experience neurodiversity and learning challenges.
  • Is motivated to provide best clinical practice for our children, young people and families.
  • Has sound ability to work autonomously and in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide secondary consultation and upskilling of others.
  • Demonstrates experience in the provision of clinical supervision.
