Role Overview:
The Chef de Partie is responsible for managing and supervising a section of the kitchen, ensuring that all preparation and cooking is of the highest standard and that the dishes are delivered to guests quickly and efficiently. Mentors and coaches junior team members, whilst creating a positive, healthy work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items according to recipes and menus
- Ensure that all food served is of the correct standard in quality, taste and presentation
- Train and supervise Kitchen Assistants and Commis Chefs
- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the section is maintained
- Ability to run own section within tight timeframes and high-pressure situations
- Assist in creating new menus and dishes
- Be aware of and comply with food, health and safety regulations
- Coaches, communicates and reinforces the properties vision and mission
- Oversee the storage of food and ingredients. Ensuring restaurant and health department sanitation requirements are maintained at all times
- All kitchen equipment and working areas are well maintained
Qualifications:
- Qualification in Commercial Cookery essential
- At least 2 years’ industry experience as a Ched de Partie, within a fast-paced, high end environment.
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and foods
- Good understanding of hygiene and food safety principles
- proven ability to run own sections unsupervised
