About the Role:

Our Newcastle office is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer on a permanent full-time basis.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our expanding Hunter Valley team. We have offices in Singleton and Broadmeadow, where we have developed an advanced geotechnical laboratory for material characterisation.

In this role you will contribute to the design, construction, operation and closure of mine water dams, tailings storage facilities and landfills. You will be responsible for providing technical input and leadership across all phases of a project. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including geologists, geotechnical engineers, and environmental specialists.

Key responsibilities and activities include:

• Prepare and develop proposals/fee estimates.

• Plan, initiate and execute programs of work.

• Manage project budgets and schedules.

• Prepare and review technical reports, design drawings, and construction specifications.

• Perform site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.

• Undertake dam surveillance, safety reviews and risk assessments.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience.

• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety.

• Strong project management and communication skills to effectively manage projects teams and engage with clients.

• Experience in preparing detailed design and documentation large earthworks projects and water management structures.

• Experience with civil design software such as 12D and/or Civil 3D.

Experience in the mining industry is highly desirable, although not essential.

Understanding of relevant industry guidelines and regulatory requirements (e.g., Dams Safety NSW, ANCOLD, GISTM) will be highly regarded.
