The National Retail Association are seeking an Engagement Program Coordinator to join our Policy team, with a current focus on Sustainability projects and programs.
Our Policy team is a small but dedicated and ambitious team, working on a wide array of topics impacting retail businesses, including sustainability, crime, health and wellbeing, domestic violence, product safety and many more.
In this role you will assist with the day-to-day delivery of projects which seek to engage, educate and support businesses through significant changes in laws and developments. We work with industry, government and engage all types of businesses from small family-run outlets to national chains and suppliers.
Please note that our programs are business engagement and education projects, not IT or construction.

Your new role
- Assist Policy Manager to deliver engagement-based projects on schedule, to budget and to a high quality.
- Assist in coordinating project activities, engagement strategies and schedules.
- Provide administrative and program support, such as meeting coordination and preparing reports.
- Develop communications, content and materials tailored to different audiences.
- Assist with business advice channels such as hotlines, email and online webinars.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with government and industry stakeholders.
- Contribute to planning, budgets, implementation and reporting.
- Dynamically respond to project or client needs, risks and opportunities.
Your skills and experience
- High level of professional communication skills.
- Proven multi-tasking and organisational ability, especially working across simultaneous projects.
- Proven skills in coordination of dynamic, fast-paced project demands.
- Demonstrated ability communicating to diverse audiences.
- Self-reliant with demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Practical, hands-on approach.
- Ability to learn quickly to be able to effectively converse in relevant industry topics.
- Experience in content writing and resource design is advantageous.
We are open to a broad range of applicants with multi-faceted program coordination experience, such as government or community engagement programs, business education projects, hands-on marketing campaigns, or retail/shopping centre operations.

Role is based in Brisbane with a blend of office-based and work-from-home hours, depending on project and team needs.
