Senior Deployment Lead

  • DCS Clerk Grade 9/10 starting from $125,693 – $138,510 p.a. base salary +superannuation and annual leave loading
  • Ongoing/permanent position
  • 2x days a week office attendance either at McKell, Sydney or Parramatta
  • This position primarily focuses on ICT hardware rollouts and deployment logistics, requiring a more hands-on onsite delivery across NSW State including rural and regional sites.
  • This role sits within the Government Shared Services Division in the Scalable Deployment team

About the team

The Scalable Deployment Solutions team plays a crucial role in delivering ICT hardware Deployments for DCS, ensuring seamless operations and enhanced customer experiences. As part of a dynamic environment, you’ll contribute to key state-wide deployment initiatives, making a tangible impact on digital service accessibility across NSW.

Your day-to-day:

  • Lead and coordinate ICT hardware deployment projects across Service NSW Service Centres.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the Deployment Specialists and Analysts, leveraging your ICT expertise to enhance their skills and ensure high performance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to streamline deployment processes and resolve challenges effectively.
  • Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and risk management to ensure successful deployments.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimising workflows and enhancing service delivery efficiency.
  • Provide expert advice on deployment best practices, aligning with organisational goals and technological advancements.

Key accountabilities:

  • Leverage your ICT expertise to provide hands-on technical leadership, ensuring smooth and efficient deployment of hardware solutions across Service NSW Service Centres.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex deployment challenges, troubleshooting issues and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Drive standardisation and best practices in ICT hardware deployment, optimising efficiency and minimising disruptions to service operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align deployment strategies with business objectives and emerging technologies.
  • Enhance team capability by mentoring and upskilling Deployment Specialists and Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline deployment processes and improve service delivery outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in ICT deployment, logistics, or technology rollouts within a large-scale environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a high-performing team.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, including the ability to influence and collaborate across different levels.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering deployments on time and within budget.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing deployment challenges.
  • Familiarity with DCS operations and ICT infrastructure (highly desirable).
