About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, your proven ability to maximise profitability and take a hands-on approach to delivering the highest standards across all operational aspects of the venue is paramount. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the daily operations of Ikara Bar & Restaurant, ensuring a smooth and efficient service experience for all patrons
- Rostering, training and mentoring staff members and building a great team culture
- Ensuring all guests are happy with service and the dining experience and dealing with all feedback
- Strong relationship building with the kitchen team and external tour group managers to ensure smooth running of tour groups
- Remain calm under pressure and encourage the same from the team through training and understanding
- Ensure Food Safety Standards, compliance with all safety, statutory and brand standards
- Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant and back of house areas
- Manage inventory including ordering stock and conducting monthly stocktake as well as fostering positive relationships with suppliers
- Monitor financial performance, including budgeting and cost control
- Develop the Beverage Menu, staying updated on industry trends and implement new ideas to improve performance and the overall dining experience
About you
We are seeking an experienced and positive leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional service and creating a positive dining experience for all patrons at Ikara Bar & Restaurant, and who is eager to drive customer-service excellence.
- Proven experience in hospitality or venue management, with a strong focus on operations and profitability.
- Leadership skills and effective communication to roster, train, mentor, and build a positive team culture with front of house and back of house
- A hands-on approach to delivering exceptional guest experiences and managing feedback.
- Strong relationship-building skills to collaborate for seamless service periods and tour group operations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations with ease
- Knowledge of Food Safety Standards and compliance with safety, statutory, and brand requirements
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Experience and competence with H&L or similar POS system and Now Book It or similar Table Reservation System
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of budgeting and cost management
