About the role
This position supports the day-to-day delivery of Australian Red Cross’s marketing and communication initiatives. Reporting through to the Senior Manager – Media, Social and External Engagement, this role is accountable for ensuring the team delivers strategic marketing and communication campaigns for both internal and external audiences, including the development of the Australian Red Cross annual report.
Day to day you will
- Advocate for assigned portfolios championing their needs and bringing together cohesive strategies efficiently. This includes working with your Senior Manager to contribute to the Key Dates & Content calendars - prioritised rolling captures of activity that deliver cross functionally visibility for the Executive team and broader organisation.
- Work closely with cross-functional senior stakeholders to develop accurate marketing and communication briefs that clearly define objectives, budgets, deadlines and expectations.
- Ensure that the voice of our customers, both internal and external is heard, listened to, and responded to respectfully throughout our campaigns and response and through the development of our Annual report
- Drive internal communication channel materials to ensure member, volunteer and staff audiences are engaged and informed. This includes supporting channel maintenance and content delivery requirements.
- Under the guidance of the Senior Manager carefully prioritise and reprioritise work with stakeholders to achieve optimal organisational/audience outcomes.
- Working closely with the Senior Manager, to write \ campaign media materials (including media releases, reactive key messages, media statements), and respond/manage media opportunities/inquiries in a timely fashion.
- Take part in on-call crisis management and on-call management roster.
What you will bring
- Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Substantial experience in marketing and communication, with experience in planning, developing and implementing impactful campaigns.
- Demonstrated ability in presenting creative and innovative ideas, opportunities and delivering solutions both to internal and external audiences.
- Proven track record in project management, building relationships with key stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective campaign delivery.
- Experience in managing multiple, internal and external agency partners to deliver integrated campaigns that achieve market shifting results.
- Substantial brand/marketing, media and internal communication knowledge and experience in a client-based, or agency role delivering within a complex matrixed organisation.
- An understanding of the complex Australian media market. Proven media relationships would be advantageous however not mandatory.
- Desired: fundraising marketing and communication experience.
